Moving To San Diego

"I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago."
"Doesn't it mean Saint Diego?"
"No. No."
"No, that's - that's what it means. Really."
"Agree to disagree"

Apologies for the lack of blogging, I just moved across the country and it turns out it's pretty time-consuming. I managed to condense most of my life into three suitcases (four, if you count the one I accidentally left behind) which is a pretty tough feat. Luckily, I have some pretty amazing friends with lonely attics so I didn't have to haul everything over. My trophies and other large objects have a nice home for now.

Driving would have been the smarter option but then I wouldn't have been able to buy my cute little Prius! It's quite interesting to go from a truck that gets 13mpg to a little car that I sometimes forget even needs gas. Usually I'd have to park half a mile away but now any spot becomes doable with the nifty back up cam. Another thing thats fun, and a little scary at times, is that the Prius is pretty much silent under 10mph. So this means that parking lots and right-on-reds become a little trickier with all the self-absorbed people trotting about. Some guy literally walked into my car the other day when I was waiting for someone to back up at the grocery store. Unbelievable. (I didn't take on a sales rep position selling Prius' incase you were wondering. I just really like my car.)

Enough about the Prius.

The world outside those four doors is pretty great. With mountains, and waves, and snow, California is every athletes dream come true. In no other place can you skateboard, snowboard, surf, and wakeboard in the same day. Maybe I'll try to do that one day this summer and make a video out of it. Send me messages to remind me because I can be quite forgetful.

I've found some really great friends, been able to practice yoga every day, surf a bunch, and work hard on healing my back injury which still tends to bother me. I'm excited for the season to start!

Anyway, I thought I'd update you all with some photos from the place I now call home.
